Foroige's Bandon Community Drugs Initiative

The initiative aims to provide its support services to people aged 12 + years offering the following:
One- to-one Support: To provide one-to-one guidance and support, in a safe and confidential environment. To assist to make changes in order to live a positive and productive life.
Setting Goals: To encourage the person to identify and set personal and realistic goals that will facilitate behaviour change related to their substance misuse.
Networking: To create and maintain a network of professionals and local agencies for the benefit of the service users.
Referral: Referring people from Bandon and surrounding areas for treatment, education or training as appropriate. Providing support to prepare for and participate with these services.
Family Support: Confidential support for parents, family members or other concerned persons whose lives are impacted by another person’s alcohol/ drug use.
Education and Prevention: To provide educational programmes and advice in order to reduce the likelihood or continuation of substance misuse.
Bandon Community Drugs Initiative is managed by Foroige in partnership with a local advisory committee and is funded by the Southern Regional Drug & Alcohol Task Force.
